Olympic Baton Gallery

On Friday 15th July, instead of having our usual weekly assembly, the children and staff at Valley took part in an incredible inter-school Olympics Baton Relay.  A small group of pupils from Queensgate Primary brought the baton through our gates where they received the customary rousing Valley School welcome.  After their long journey, we thought our young friends would appreciate a well earned sit-down, so we invited them into the hall to enjoy the festivities and see the incredible replica-Olympic torches we had created in advance.

Then it was time for a number of our own students to take the baton on the next leg of its journey, across to our close neighbours at Moss Hey Primary.  Before long our ambassadors were busy high-fiving the vast “guard of honour” of children who had come to greet them on the sports field seperating the schools.  It truly was a wonderful sight to behold.

We’re not quite sure where the baton went next… although we did hear a rumour the Moss Hey team took it directly to Rio.
