Family Liaison Worker

Hello, I am Joanne Hibbert the Family Liaison worker for Valley school. My role is to provide support and advocate on behalf of families.
I have worked with families and children who have additional needs throughout my career and prior to joining the Valley staff team , I was the Manager of Stockport Portage Service within Stockport Council.
Part of my role is to liaise with other professionals on behalf of families, these include Health professionals, colleagues from Social Care and other local Authority representatives. I can also initiate and coordinate Early Help and support for families by drawing together services that can help plan steps forward for individual families.
I offer a listening ear, can support applications for funding, and can signpost you to information.
In the future I would like to hold more events for parents and carers including: Training sessions/ coffee mornings/ drop in sessions etc. I am always open to suggestions from parents and carers on what you want feel would be helpful.
Based at Valley school, and I am usually around at drop off and pick up times. Alternatively, you can contact me by telephone on the school number or via my E mail address.
