What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil premium is an additional sum of money allocated to schools on the basis of the number of pupils who are eligible for free school meals. Pupil Premium Plus is money allocated on the basis of the number of pupils who are currently or ever have been in care (LAC).

The purpose of the additional funding is to narrow any gaps in attainment, improve pupil well-being and raise standards in basic skills.
