As the new school year begins, a number of local term time clubs with special needs provision are recommencing too. For those who aren’t familiar with them, below is a brief snapshot of what you can expect.
CADS (Children’s Able and Disabled Sports) run by Seashell Trust features an array of energetic activities, from football to climbing. Many of these take place on weekday evenings. On Saturday afternoons they offer something a little different – Seashell Showbiz – which includes songs, games, dancing and drama.
Jump Space is a specialist recreation centre based in Stockport, offering Rebound Therapy, Trampolining and Active/Sensory play. They can cater for a real diversity of needs including children with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis and Down’s Syndrome.
Finally, Independent Options provide something a little more sedate including after school clubs with play, computers and crafts. They also offer a Saturday Boredom Busters session (on the second and fourth Saturday of each month) with outdoor play equipment, bikes and indoor sensory play.
