Welcome to Valley School’s web site
Valley School first opened in 1979, occupying a site in Cheadle, Stockport and it was originally a school for children with physical difficulties. It moved to the present site in Bramhall in 1984. Our school motto, ‘Small steps, giant strides’ captures our belief that with the right help and support, children are capable of great progress, and we see evidence of this each day in our school.
Our classes cater for children with a range of complex and severe learning difficulties including autism, sensory, physical and medical needs. We have a specialist nursery and early years provision where the youngest pupils in school are assessed to find out how we can best meet their specific needs. All pupils, irrespective of their abilities and needs, learn together in an environment that celebrates achievement whatever their starting point .
The school has forged strong links with many mainstream schools within the Borough of Stockport over the years. We continue to value the opportunities created through these links to develop provision for individuals and groups of children, and to reflect upon and develop our own practice.
The greatest strength of the school is its staff team. We remain committed to providing the best education possible for our pupils, tailored to their specific, individual and changing needs, and to supporting families to the very best of our ability.
Valley School has a real sense of community and is a wonderful place to work. Based on what our pupils tell and show us in their own individual ways (and on what their families tell us too) we believe it is also a wonderful place to be a pupil.
Thank you for visiting our web site. We hope you enjoy learning more about our school.
